Feature Interview: Kevin Bromber, CEO of myDevices

Kevin served as Co-Founder and CEO of 3DGreetings.com, an electronic greeting card company sold to NASDAQ: MAT; Co-Founder and CEO of NowMedia Corporation, an interactive, live broadcasting platform; General Manager of Arvixe, a web hosting company sold to NASDAQ: EIGI; Head of global business and corporate development for Avanquest, the 5th largest consumer software company in the world; and currently is CEO of myDevices, a connected device, IoT platform company.
BusinessInterviews.com: What inspired you to launch your business?
Kevin Bromber: I have always been fascinated and inspired by technological innovations that directly improve the lives of human beings (e.g. Railroads connecting a continent; Factories improving safety and efficiency; Internet disrupting and forcing rapid improvements for nearly every industry). About 5 years ago, it became clear to me that all electronic devices would be connected to the cloud and to each other. For me, it seemed obvious that if a platform could aggregate, capture, analyze and share data from any type of device that it would have enormous possibilities and power to greatly improve efficiencies in many different industries. That was a good enough reason to move forward.
BusinessInterviews.com: What issue does your core product help solve and how so?
Kevin Bromber: Our product helps our customers get their products and services to market faster. More specifically, there are a number of functions that an Internet of Things platform must accomplish. These include features, such as: device management (of all device types); device/sensor discovery; a rules engine; scheduling; and much more. Our core product provides our customers with a significant foundation to create their IOT solution instead of writing every piece of code from scratch.
BusinessInterviews.com: What has been your biggest challenge as a business owner and how have you met that challenge?
Kevin Bromber: The business of IOT is relatively new and the market is evolving every second of every day. Our biggest challenge is to stay ahead of (very large) competitors by staying agile and keenly focused on helping our customers solve real problems.
BusinessInterviews.com: What’s the most exciting thing on the horizon for you/your Company?
Kevin Bromber: Our Company has an aggressive roadmap to deliver “easy IOT”. In the next 12 months we will be launching a series of platform improvements/enhancements that will significantly shorten the development time for prototyping and launching IOT projects.

Kevin Bromber: In 5 years, I believe myDevices will be known as one of the important pioneers in the IOT platform space because we continued to deliver easy to use tools that are very powerful.
BusinessInterviews.com: What advice do you have for other entrepreneurs and business owners? What do you wish someone told you?
Kevin Bromber: Your team is the most important factor in your company’s success. Look for people who are smart, passionate and eager to learn. Don’t settle!
